Holland Casino Scheveningen has made a nice donation to the SOS Dolfijn foundation. The foundation has received almost 4000 euros (3967.57 euros) from the casino. Holland Casino Scheveningen has collected this nice amount of money by placing a charity box in the casino for six months. In this box, guests donated the residual value of their playing tickets after playing at the casino's slot machines.
Small-scale and local
The employees of Holland Casino Scheveningen were allowed to choose where the amount of money from the charity box went. Ultimately, they chose the SOS Dolfijn foundation. They did this not only because they support the charity, but also because it is a small-scale organization with a local connection. With its donation, Holland Casino Scheveningen not only wants to show the involvement of the casino and its employees, but also to make a concrete contribution to social goals.
About the SOS Dolphin Foundation
Stichting SOS Dolfijn is concerned with catching stranded dolphins and porpoises. The foundation also has its own research center and the staff of the foundation give advice to other countries about catching stranded dolphins and porpoises. The foundation does not receive a subsidy from the municipality and therefore an extra donation is welcome. "This is absolutely crazy!", Says an enthusiastic employee of the SOS Dolfijn foundation.
Extra money after relocation
At the moment, the SOS Dolfijn foundation is still in Harderwijk. In the short term, however, the foundation will move. It is not known what the new location of the foundation will be. It is clear, however, that this is a location in Noord-Holland. Wherever the foundation ends up: you can use the money from Holland Casino Scheveningen well.
The majority of the money that Holland Casino Scheveningen has raised will be spent on aid for sick and / or injured dolphins and porpoises. In addition, the money is used to properly catch the dolphins and porpoises that end up on the Dutch coast. So they have a nice place until they are ready to go into the sea again.
