Dutch people also find it interesting to buy crypto coins. Not to do all sorts of expenses with this, but to sell the coins (with a big profit). Yet the Dutch are quite careful with this disguised way of gambling. There are many Dutch people who buy crypto coins, but for little money. The Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) says this on the basis of the data from a preliminary investigation.
Many small amounts in the cryptomarket
The cryptomarket is currently worth around 800 billion dollars. This is a huge amount, but it is even more so if you compare it to the value of the same market last year. At that time the market was still worth 20 billion dollars. A huge increase in one year! The Dutch are also helping to increase the value of the cryptomarket by investing in various crypto coins.
Dutch "gamblers" do this for small amounts. The investigation by the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets shows that only 6 percent of Dutch people with crypto coins have put more than 1000 euros into the coins. The rest of the people who buy crypto coins put in less than 1000 euros. Often it concerns amounts of a few hundred euros.
The Dutch remain afraid of a strong fall
Incidentally, it is not for nothing that most Dutch people do not invest that much in crypto coins. They are in fact afraid of a strong fall, such as the fall that started at the end of 2017. Approximately 1 percent of crypto investors in the Netherlands ran into problems due to this exchange rate fall. By investing less in crypto coins, Dutch "gamblers" try to protect themselves. If the price goes wrong again, the losses are minimal. This simply makes the investment less vulnerable.
Not a bad choice, it turned out early this month. At the beginning of April the price of the Bitcoin went down considerably again. Now the course is recovering. The Bitcoin is currently worth 6604 euros.
