Reactor is a separate video slot from Red Tiger that takes place in a futuristic nuclear reactor.
It is an energetic mess there in that reactor: you feel that those big payouts can fall any moment. And the wilds consist of electric balls of pure controlled energy.
This online slot machine does not have a main bonus feature, but that does not mean that you cannot win big prizes. There are mini features that can be stacked on top of each other.
Huge payouts can arise, which can amount to as much as 5,000 times the total bet.
How does the Reactor slot machine work?
Reactor has 20 fixed paylines, which apply from both sides. There are 5 reels with 3 rows of symbols and you can bet from as little as € 0.10 per spin. Of course you can also bet more: up to a maximum of 100 euros per spin.
The variance is high: this is primarily a slot machine for players who like a good deal of risk in their game.
The theoretical payout percentage is 96.02%, which is just fine. The slot machines from Red Tiger generally have excellent payout percentages.
Symbols and payouts
The wilds replace all other symbols except the scatters (the batteries). 5 wilds on an active payline pay out 500 coins.
As premium symbols, there are 4 colored panels, a kind of technical component. These symbols pay out between 160 and 400 coins for every 5-of-a-kind.
The low symbols are 4 crystal-like symbols, in the same colors as the premium symbols. The same low symbols are between 30 and 90 coin values.
As we mentioned in the beginning of this review of Reactor, there is no main bonus feature. At least not in the sense of a free spins bonus or a pick and click bonus.
But that doesn't mean Reactor is boring. There is namely a mini feature, with a special twist.
You can stack up to 4 different mini features on top of each other, to achieve 1 mega feature.
This works as follows: if you have run 1 battery, you get a free respin and you can try to run as many extra scattered batteries as possible.
From 2 or more batteries (the maximum is 5 batteries) you get different extra boosters, which will provide the real fireworks.
The more boosters, the greater the potential returns:
2 batteries: 1 respin where symbols are exchanged
3 batteries: change symbols plus random wilds
4 batteries: exchange symbols, random wilds and a mega wild
5 batteries: exchange symbols, random wilds, a mega wild and a multiplier up to 10 x
We managed to turn all 5 batteries once. Then a lot happened and after the smoke had lifted, we were left behind with a beautiful payout of more than 450 x the total bet.
Most of the time it is of course true that you run 2 or 3 batteries, but that too can lead to nice prizes.
What do we think of Reactor?
Reactor is a somewhat separate video slot, but we only like that.
The lack of a real main bonus feature is partly compensated by the mini features, with which you can also win big money.
Still, admitting to a nice bonus round is also what makes gambling fun.
This is therefore primarily a suitable slot for applying the Hit and Run strategy. Not playing for hours, but pumping some money into it, trying to get a nice payout and getting away.
3.5 out of 5 stars.
